MS Gardiner & Associates is a professional valuation and appraisal firm valuing real estate and real property (real rights) as well as movable assets. Although our office is situated in Pietermaritzburg (Kwazulu Natal), we operate throughout South Africa, travelling as and when required by our clients.

Our valuation reports are fully motivated and compliant with the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV), the Standards and Generally Accepted Valuation Principles (GAVP) of the International Valuations Standards Council (IVSC).

Our valuer, Malcolm Gardiner, is registered with the South African Council For The Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP) and is a member of the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV).

Malcolm is a registered Professional Associated Valuer and has worked in the property industry for more than 22 years.

He completed his National Diploma: Real Estate (Property Valuation) in 1999 and has 18 years post-qualification experience in all facets of property valuation and real estate, including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, municipal, hotels, game lodges, blocks of flats, shareblocks, expropriations, petrol filling stations, township development, various types of vacant land, market rental determination, insurance replacement costs, property inspections and advisory services.

He specialises in discounted cashflow (DCF) valuations and uses the internationally recognised Cougar platform. Cougar Software was founded in Sydney, Australia with a focused mission of creating intuitive tools to solve the challenging decision processes that face real estate investors. This software platform is extensively utilised by the listed sector in South Africa, and Malcolm has completed valuations for several property funds.

Malcolm has also acted as assistant municipal valuer in a number of general valuations over the past 5 years and has experience in mass valuations, objections and appeals.
